On a hot day in July members and some staff from Northampton, Corby and Wellingborough went to Hamerton Zoo.
We had a great day the weather was good although this meant that some of the animals were sleeping. They had animals from the snow tiger to albino wallabies, they had Australian birds including the Kookaburra. They also had a strange bird with long mohican hair on his head. We went into the petting area where there were goats and lambs, and the goats took a liking to one or two members and staff to the point there was even a selfie with a volunteer!. A couple of the goats were also jumping up when members were getting goat food out of the machine to feed them but the goats did not want to wait, they were obviously hungry!
Everybody met for a picnic lunch and we then had another hour around looking around the zoo. A great day was had by all members and staff and we have had members asking if we are going to do it again.
