On Friday 7th December 2018 a group of our members went on a historical tour of Sessions House.
15 members and staff attended in total, we were shown around by Roger Coleman, a wonderfully knowledgeable tour guide. We started outside the building, then toured the courtrooms where we reenacted proceedings in a 17th Century court. Some of our members role played criminals and two were able to play court judge and sentence the criminals to be hanged!
We then went down to the holding cells and tunnels to experience the "Debters Jail", our tour guide told us all the grizzly details of how men, women and children were treated if suspected of crimes as petty as stealing bread!
Everyone joined in the various historical role play and we all found the tour a lot of fun.
The feedback so far from members who attended has been great, with many saying that they want to go again! If you would be interested in coming along to the next tour, or you have any suggestions of similar activities you think our members would enjoy please see Andy or Jess and pop your suggestion in our suggestions box.
Thank you to everyone who attended, Mr Coleman said the Bridge members would be welcome back anytime as we were such good sports.
