Bridge held its first Table Tennis tournament of the year in Northampton on Wednesday 11th March. 24 participants took part in the tournament, from all over the county.

Just like our last tournament, participants were placed in 4 groups, to allow players to have a minimum of 3 games. Top 2 qualify from each group.

The quarter final draw was made and all matches were close encounters. We eventually got down to our final. Vinnie played in his consecutive final and Dean played in his first final. Vinnie raced into a 2 nil lead, in the 3 game the score was tight eventually being edge by Vinnie to win the final 3-0.

It was great to see all participants interacting and praising each other's shots, even with that little bit of competitiveness.

Tournament days are always great to be a part of and the atmosphere is always positive. Members from every county interact with each other and it's a joy to see.

Table Tennis League

Currently Bridge are in 2nd place in Division 2 of the Northampton Table Tennis League. With 2 games to go, this has now been suspended due to Covid 19. If it resumes, Bridge are hoping to hold 2nd place and potentially win promotion for the first time since we joined 4 years ago.
