On Sunday 25th June 2017, four of our members entered the Pain and Suffering race.
30/30 boot camp style circuit commenced on 15/02/2017, the aim of this circuit was for individuals to work on various muscle groups, incorporating short bursts of cardio over an 8 week period.
Five of the members became regulars to this group and became friends, they participated in 5km park runs and formed Julia's Victims. The Victims researched the Pain and Suffering race originally on a 5km (beginners) basis, it then developed to the complete 10km as they wanted to have no regrets and wanted to maximise their potential.
The Pain and Suffering race is a 10km mud and obstacle course designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. It is a challenge that emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something almost as tough as you are.
In their leg there were 631 participants, the finishing times varied from one hour and 27 minutes (1:27:00), to seven hours and sixteen minutes (7:16:00), The Victims finished with a time of three hours and twenty one minutes (3:21:26) and placed between #325 - #330.
The Victims said that without the help of Julia and Bridge then this would have remained a pipe dream.
The Victims have raised in excess of £450 from this, The Victims have said they would like to use this money for Gym equipment at Bridge, they hope other members will benefit in the same way that they have and perhaps go on to do something simular (If you would like to then please speak to Wayde Sheppy at Bridge). If you wish to donate then please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
