Overall Role

The role of the Admin Worker is to ensure the smooth running of all office procedures. The hours will be spread over five days and occasional overtime will be required.


  • Input data on to the database, such as – attendance records, case notes and new referrals.
  • Write and dispatch routine or straightforward letters.
  • Answer general telephone enquiries.
  • Photocopy documents.
  • Maintain records and filing systems.
  • Undertake any other task/duties as may be reasonably required.

Due to the nature of our work, employees will be required to sign a Confidentiality and Data Protection Agreement. No information relating to any members or files may be disclosed to third parties without the consent of both the Member and Bridge SMP.

You will provide an administrative service for the department duties as well as providing a key point of contact with staff, volunteers and members.

  • Able and willing to work as part of a team and also be able to work independently

Education and Qualifications

  • Formal education is not a requirement of this post.
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Driving licence.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience of working within a team environment
  • High computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office products
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality and the need to share data and information
  • Experience of using an electronic case management system
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel and simple formulae
  • Experience of recording the minutes of meetings
  • Experience of maintaining and updating petty cash spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of the GDPR 2018
  • Rudimentary knowledge of substance misuse in order to signpost either within Bridge or to external agencies

Ability and Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally, by email and in writing
  • Good telephone manner
  • Have a high attention to detail and be well organised.
  • Ability to maintain and update member contact information using computerised database.
  • Ability to access information using internet and other resources.
  • Ability to work within defined administrative processes, ensuring adherence to specified service levels.
  • Understand the confidentiality and security procedures relating to the Agency's and customer data.
  • Ability to supervise and direct admin volunteers
