Bridge is a peer support project which links volunteers who have recovered from alcohol and/or drug misuse with members with substance misuse issues. Bridge provides a range of activities, events and support to over 800 members. The role of the Senior Recovery Worker is vital in supporting members to sustain their recovery through group work, one to one sessions and activities.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, conscientious and creative Senior Recovery Worker to work closely with our team of Recovery Workers, Volunteers and Mentors to deliver the best outcomes for our Members.
  • Your role will include providing support and guidance to staff to ensure the provision of a recovery focused service. Planning and organising daily and weekly activities for members and ensuring their safety and wellbeing and helping create an environment where members can access recovery capital.
  • You will be able to work constructively and cooperatively with the team and other agencies. Have good communication skills, a professional approach to working with people and an openness to extending your knowledge and skills.
 

Key requirements

  • Commitment to the empowerment of members and users of drug and alcohol services.
  • A strong interest in member involvement and promoting people‚Äôs rights.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and with a range of different organisations.
  • Experience of supervising people and monitoring performance.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to prioritise work, meet deadlines and make autonomous decisions when needed.
  • Enthusiasm, commitment and motivation to work with people ensuring they receive the best services possible.
